There's a reason matched betting gets a 5/5 from me. Even being here reading this right now means you're on to something good!
When I first discovered matched betting I was highly sceptical, it sounded too good to be true and my alarm bells were ringing out for a "scam". It was only after using my free trial that I realised this system is very real and, put simply, it works. Don't be put off by the word "betting", you don't need to be a gambler to take advantage of this.
What is Matched Betting?
Matched Betting involves betting on all outcomes of an event and balancing the odds in such a way it guarantees a return. This method is completely risk free as you are covering all possibilities, whether the result comes in or not, you win! It uses free bets credited by the bookmakers, for both new customers and existing customers, in order to generate the profit.
How much is Matched Betting worth to me?
As indicated within the rating above, I put matched betting down at £500+ per month. That is a bit of a lie as it is directly down to how much time you put in. I put £500+ down as what I believe to be an achievable amount if you want to put in a couple of hours a week, I don't want to set your expectations too high.
Having done matched betting myself I have seen first hand what people earn, some earn £200, some earn £500, some earn £2,000 and some (very few) earn £5,000 a month! It is all dependent on how much time you invest. Personally I was bringing in over £1,000/month at my peak whilst managing a full-time job.
What about the tax man? Do you have to pay tax with Matched Betting?
Another advantage of matched betting against most other side-hustles is that all winnings are tax-free! Gambling winnings are not taxed in the UK so you are good to keep hold of every last penny!
Is Matched Betting legal?
Alongside, "Is Matched Betting a Scam?", "Is Matched Betting Legal In The UK?" is certainly up there with one of the most frequently asked questions regarding matched betting.
I was the exact same when I first started looking into the system, I was sceptical to say the least, surely matched betting is too good to be true? Is there a catch with matched betting?
It is worth confirming right now that matched betting is 100% legal so you have nothing to worry about. The systems works and although frowned upon by bookmakers (understandably!), it is legal.
Whilst the above quote suggests bookmakers are okay with matched betting, they're really not. Bookmakers hate matched betting as it takes value from them and in the long run costs them money! There are terms and conditions on every bookmaker offer which state, using Betfred as an example:
"Betfred.com reserves the right to withhold any free bet payment if it believes that the promotion has been abused and/or where the terms of the offer are not fulfilled, or any irregular betting patterns are found. The decision of the Betfred.com management is final."

You have 2 choices:
- Do what I did at first and follow the video tutorials provided within your free trial here. They taught me all I know and will get you started straight away with a free trial that will earn you around £45 (dependant on odds matches at the time). They ask for no card details at all, they just require you to create a username and password and take an email address. It's is a completely risk free trial to prove matched betting works.
- Follow my entire matched betting guide through step-by-step including a full example offer and learn the ins and outs of how this is made possible with the community here to help, asking any questions along the way. Click here to continue.
A little tip from experience here, you are often pushed toward Betfair Exchange who take a 5% commission on all bets. I found that Smarkets who only take a 2% commission had just as good of a service and over time the extra 3% really adds up!
